Have you always wanted to act?

We are always looking for new members to the join the club, whether it’s on stage or backstage. We meet regularly Mondays and Thursdays for rehearsals and on Wednesdays for set building.

We are a friendly group

We also like to socialise as a club too, whether it’s going to other local theatre shows or going to the pub for a drink and we love welcoming new members into our GDC family. You can follow us on Facebook and Instagram and keep up date with all the latest news, direct from the theatre.

Whether you dream of treading the boards or prefer to work behind the scenes, there’s a place for you here. From acting and directing to building sets, managing costumes, or mastering lighting and sound, your talents will find a home at Gainford Drama Club.

Regular performances

We stage performances at least twice a year, with rehearsals running from January to April for our Spring production and from September to November for our Autumn show. With twice-weekly rehearsals that ramp up to three times a week as opening night approaches, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to dive into the world of theatre. Plus, our social events—like trips to the theatre, 80s themed evenings, and gatherings at the local pub—ensure that we not only create art but also build lasting connections. Whether you’ve always fancied ‘treading the boards’ or maybe you’re a seasoned player, there are opportunities to get on stage.

Productions would not happen without the back stage crew, so if being ‘in the limelight’ is not for you then there are many other ways to get involved.

The club is always looking for new members to join and membership is open to everyone.  You can become a part of Gainford Drama Club in many ways, both on and off the stage.
