CHRISTMAS NEWSLETTER 2021

Dec 24, 2021 | News

Hello everyone

After two years we have, at last, performed our first production after lockdown. What a successful return with “Lend Me A Tenor” by Ken Ludwig.

Congratulations to Lawrence and all those associated with the production which was extremely well received by our audiences.

The cast and backstage crew worked very hard through the rehearsals disrupted by COVID regulations and the need for cast members to self-isolate to create the eight wonderful performances!

Our grateful thanks and a BIG, BIG Thank You for your support go out to those members who donated and promoted the fundraising to friends and family, without this effort the Drama Club would have been in significant difficulty.

In December some members attended the Gainford Christmas Party in the Village Hall and we held a festive Play Reading in the Theatre with Mulled Wine & Mince Pies to which we welcomed some new members. In the New Year we will be continuing a series of play readings as we search for our future productions. Dates are to be arranged, so watch this space, and do come along.

We are now gearing up for our next production, which will be “One Day I’ll Fly Away”, to be directed by Ronnie Lowery, which we had planned to do in the Spring of 2020 but was postponed because of the pandemic. She will be using the original cast, but, due to Easter and arrangements for holidays, the performance dates will be Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd April and Tuesday 26th to Thursday 28th April, with Saturday being a Matinee performance. If you would like to volunteer to assist in any way, then please contact Ronnie.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2022.
